Hocus Crocus Shrug, Beanie, and Wristlets
Inspired by the first flower of spring, the crocus, these accessories provide a colorful antidote to a harsh
winter. The lace pattern provides breathable warmth, ideal for unpredictable spring weather. One ball of each yarn will make both the beanie and wristlets.
Hocus Crocus Shrug
This shrug is worked in two mirror-image halves in the round, starting with ribbing at each sleeve and continuing with the main lace pattern, then worked flat for half of the shoulder width in a contrasting lace pattern. The edging is worked at the same time in garter stitch, and there is only one seam in the middle of the back.
Size: Small, Medium, Large. Arm circumference: 13, 15, 17 inches
(33, 38, 43 cm).
Sleeve length: 7.5, 8, 8.5 inches (19, 20, 21.5 cm).
Materials needed: 2 (3, 3) skeins (125yds/50g skein) worsted weight (shown: Fibra Natura Mermaid, color 40603- purple); US8/5mm needles (circular and/or double-pointed needles, as desired); US9/5.5mm needles (circular and/or double-pointed needles, as desired); stitch
markers; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 16 sts/22 rows=4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch, and 13 sts/26 rounds=4" (10 cm) with larger needles in lace pattern after blocking.

Hocus Crocus Beanie
The Beanie is worked in the round from the top down.
DK Weight Pattern:
Size: Child/Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large, circumference 18, 19, 21.25 inches
(16, 48, 54 cm) unstretched.
Knit the size that is approximately 2 inches (5 cm) smaller than head for a snug fit.
Materials needed: 1 skein (150yds/50g skein) DK weight for main color (shown: Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend, color 3117- violets), uses approximately 51yds/17g; 1 skein (150yds/50g skein) DK weight for contrasting color (shown: Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend, color 3055- olive), uses approximately 54yds/18g; US6/4.0mm needles (circular and/or double-pointed needles, as desired); stitch

Hocus Crocus Wristlets
An optional beaded ruffle adds a “flight of fancy” to the wristlets.
These wristlets are worked in the round starting at the cuff.
Both wristlets are worked the same.
DK Weight pattern:
One size fits most: circumference: 7.5 inches (109 cm) unstretched, will stretch to 10 inches (25.5 cm); length is 6 inches (15 cm).

Spring Mix Tote
This felted tote is unexpectedly versatile. Embellishments are attached with Velcro, and can be changed with ease. So, be creative and mix it up! The main body of the bag is worked using two strands of yarn. The bottom is worked flat, then stitches are picked up and the rest of the bag is knit in the round.

Fleur-lace Necklace
Worn like a scarf, this flowery necklace will brighten your wardrobe and protect your neck against chilly spring winds. The necklace is worked to double the neck circumference. It is folded in half to create a loop through which the ends are pulled to fit snugly around your neck.
Size: Circumference 13 inches
(33 cm). Length: 13 inches (33 cm) from neck to end.

Fluffy's Candy Pet Sweater
This fun, colorful dog (or cat) sweater has a collar that looks like fluffy cotton candy. Knit in a simple ribbing, it stretches to fit many sizes of pets. The sweater is worked flat starting at the tail end, then joined to work in the round. Short rows provide shaping for the chest. The collar is knit separately and attached at the end.
 Sizes: XSmall, Small, Medium, Large. Finished length: 8, 10, 12, 16 inches (20.5, 25.5, 30.5, 40.5 cm); chest circumference: 12, 14, 16, 17.5 inches (30.5, 35.5, 40.5, 44.5 cm). Add one to two inches of ease for chest.
